Training assessments

If you are experiencing behavioral problems while self-training, preparing to sell your equine, or wondering what discipline best suits your equine, our services may be very beneficial to you. We specialize in behavioral problems, equine/rider relationship issues, overcoming fear issues in equines and people, and western training.

Common problems requiring immediate training

  • Equine aggression toward humans and other equines
  • Lack of respect for humans
  • Undesirable behaviors under saddle
  • Inability to pay attention to rider/handler
  • Fear issues
  • Equine not about to be bathed, have feet picked up, load into trailer, or be tied
  • Lack of effective communication between equine and rider

Starting under saddle

The best investment you can make with your equine is to give it the gift of patient, professional, non-violent training.  People who allow us to work with their equines are amazed when it comes time for them to start their equine under saddle.  Advanced ground training can be done with equines of almost any age, so that most all the difficult training has been done before you mount for the first time.

Depending on the breed of equine, we will not start any equine under saddle until it is at least 2½ to 3 years old.  Medical research has proven that very young equines are not physically or emotionally prepared to have a rider on their back.  Starting an equine too young will cause developmental damage to the bones and joints of the equine.
